Position Overview
The Data Engineer is a core contributor to Merit’s technology and data modernization strategy, responsible for building the pipelines, data models, and governed data infrastructure that power analytics, reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency across the firm. This role unifies data from custodians, financial planning platforms, CRM systems, and internal applications into reliable, scalable pipelines while ensuring accuracy, security, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to collect and process data from custodians, planning platforms (Orion, eMoney, Tamarac), CRM systems (Salesforce), and internal systems.
- Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of data across platforms.
- Collaborate with product, compliance, operations, and investment teams to deliver actionable insights through data solutions.
- Implement and maintain data models, warehouses, and APIs supporting reporting, analytics, and compliance audits.
- Partner with compliance to enforce data governance, privacy, and retention standards in accordance with SEC and industry requirements.
- Automate recurring data tasks and develop monitoring tools to ensure pipeline health.
- Support ad hoc data analysis and reporting requests.
- Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Proficiency with SQL and modern data stack tools.
- Experience with APIs, data modeling, and warehouse architectures.
- Strong understanding of data governance and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and workflow automation.
- Experience supporting cross‑functional analytics and reporting teams.
