Job Description

The Solution Train Engineer will facilitate the Information Security Agile Release Train and Solution Train processes and execution, respectively. This role will elevate impediments, manage risk, help ensure value delivery, and drive relentless improvement, acting as the key driver in the Scaled Agile transformation, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in the new processes and mindset. The Information Security Solution Train Engineer facilitates and guides the work done by all of the agile release trains delivering the solution.

The role will also configure SAFe to our organization’s needs, standardize and document best practices, and oversee all Program Increment (PI) sessions, SI Escalation meetings and MVP releases for the Solution Train.

Role Summary/Purpose

The Solution Train Engineer will facilitate the Information Security Agile Release Train and Solution Train processes and execution, respectively. The Information Security Solution Train Engineer facilitates and guides the work done by all of the agile release trains delivering the solution.

The role will also configure SAFe to our organization’s needs, standardize and document best practices, and oversee all Program Increment (PI) sessions, SI Escalation meetings and MVP releases for the Solution Train.

Key Functions
  • Facilitating solution events, coaching the team, and assisting them to deliver added value by closely working with Solution Architect & Management.

  • Establish and maintain reporting and transparency mechanisms to track progress against goals, PI commitments, and agility maturity across the Solution Train.

  • Identifying and proactively working to remove barriers, influence decisions, and improve the entire delivery system.

  • Acting as a lean‑agile leader and coach for the RTE (Release Train Engineer) community.

  • Helping the individual RTE, and ART end‑users understand their impact on the overall picture of the decision‑making process.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value across the ART and Solution Train, providing portfolio‑level visibility into delivery progress, PI outcomes, and alignment to strategic priorities.

  • Establish and communicate the annual cadence for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs) for Prism, ensuring consistency, readiness, and transparency.

  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness and execution, fostering a Continuous Exploration and synthesis of vision, roadmap, and backlogs through pre‑ and post‑PI activities.

  • Track execution of features and capabilities, delivering ongoing insights into progress, delivery confidence, risks, and PI outcomes.

  • Identify, manage, and elevate risks, dependencies, and impediments impacting PI execution and overall program delivery.

  • Provide input on resourcing and capacity constraints to address critical bottlenecks and support portfolio and PI commitments.

  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Engineering, and the Agile PMO to ensure strategy, execution, and delivery are aligned across the ART and Solution Train.

  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence, including Dev Ops and Release on Demand maturity, and Lean UX practices.

  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help them improve.

  • Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built‑In Quality practices.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 8 years of IT experience or, in lieu of degree, High School diploma/GED and 9 years of IT experience.

  • Minimum of 8 years of IT project management experience in financial services or banking industry.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with project management methodology (Waterfall, Agile) and all phases of SDLC.

  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.
