Job Description & How to Apply Below
Saleo is looking for a QA Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and readiness of our products. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our fast-growing QA team, owning end-to-end quality across Saleo’s full product surface area: our Chrome extension and web portal (including AI‑led demo agents).
You’ll deeply understand each release, build pragmatic test plans, validate functionality across devices and user roles, and proactively hunt issues across the product. You’ll also lead performance testing—using dev tools and performance monitors to identify bottlenecks, memory leaks, and regressions before customers ever see them.
Responsibilities- Own quality sign-off for releases and act as the final checkpoint before features ship.
- Operate comfortably in a fast‑moving product environment with frequent releases.
- Prioritize issues by customer impact, especially in high‑stakes, customer‑facing demo flows.
- Create and maintain test plans for core workflows and regression coverage across the Chrome extension and web portal.
- Test new releases end‑to‑end across features, workflows, and integrations (not just isolated tickets).
- Validate behavior across Chrome (desktop/laptop), devices, and multiple user types / login roles.
- During downtime, run full product sweeps to uncover bugs, UX inconsistencies, and edge cases.
- Own performance testing across the extension, web portal, and agent experiences:
- Use Chrome Dev Tools (Performance / Memory / Network), profiling, and monitoring tools
- Identify memory leaks, CPU spikes, rendering regressions, slow API patterns, long tasks, and unexpected network chatter
- Validate responsiveness on heavier pages and real‑world customer scenarios
- Write excellent bug reports with clear repro steps, expected vs. actual behavior, screenshots/video, logs, and suspected root cause when possible.
- Partner with Product/Engineering to define release readiness criteria and quality gates.
- Familiarity with Playwright a plus.
- Strong experience in end‑to‑end product QA for modern SaaS products.
- Comfortable testing across roles/permissions, authentication flows, and multi‑tenant environments.
- Technical fluency with:
- Browser dev tools (Performance, Memory, Network, Console)
- Web fundamentals (DOM, networking, caching, JS runtime behavior)
- Ability to design effective test plans that balance coverage with speed.
- Strong written communication—clear, actionable reporting and release notes for internal stakeholders.
- Experience testing Chrome extensions (manifest behavior, permissions, content scripts, background service workers, etc.).
- Familiarity with automation (Playwright/Cypress/Selenium), even if this role starts manual‑heavy.
- Experience testing AI/LLM‑driven product experiences (prompt regressions, reliability, hallucination handling, safety/guardrails, evals).
- Experience with observability tooling (Sentry, Datadog, Grafana, etc.).
