Monitoring Engineer

Alpharetta, GA Contract US Citizen, GC Holder, EAD and TN

• Responsible for analyzing existing monitoring solutions, understanding the roles of the applications they cover, and configuring, developing, and enhancing those solutions during the Datacenter Migration.
• Under limited direction, expand and enhance monitoring, alerting, and reporting on our newly migrated platforms
• Participate in requirements gathering & scope discussions for applications or platforms being migrated that do not already have effective monitoring coverage
• Assist in the development, deployment, and refinement of monitoring standards

• 3-5 years of experience required (5+ Preferred)
• Work experience should indicate previous experience in at least 2 of the following areas:
  • Tomcat Web development
  • Java programming
  • JavaScript programming
  • Perl scripting
  • Log Monitoring
  • Infrastructure Monitoring
  • Application & Performance Monitoring
  • Network Monitoring
• Some experience with Databases (Oracle, SQL Server)
• Previous experience developing, deploying, and refining Dashboards, Alerts, & Reports
• A strong knowledge of the relationship between software and hardware interaction
• Strong writing & documentation skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft® Word & Excel
