Datacenter Network SME; Adva​/Ciena

Job Overview

We are seeking a Datacenter Network Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep expertise in Ciena and ADVA optical and packet networking solutions. The role involves leading deployments, migrations, and providing technical guidance to ensure high-performance datacenter and metro networks.

• Lead deployment, commissioning, and testing of Ciena (6500, 5400, 8700 series) and ADVA (FSP 150, 3000, 3000C) networking equipment.
• Perform complex network migrations and in-service upgrades with minimal impact on end-user traffic.
• Configure and manage Network Management Systems (NMS).
• Support optical transport network design including DWDM/CWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH, and Ethernet.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for field engineers and customers.
• Ensure robust routing and switching configurations (Layer 3, BGP, OSPF).
• Provide guidance on Ethernet, IP, and SyncE/IEEE 1588v2 protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network improvements and optimizations.

• Proven experience with Ciena 6500, Site Manager, and Metro Field Tech scenarios.
• Strong knowledge of Layer 3 routing and switching; CCNP/CCIE certification preferred.
• Hands‑ons experience with optical transport networks (OTN), DWDM, and CWDM).
• Familiarity with Linux, Python scripting, and SQL is a plus.
• Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
• Relevant experience in the telecommunications industry.
