The Associate Director IT Global Data Analytics, Innovation and Digital Experimentation is a critical member of the Avanos IT leadership team. This technology leader will be located in the Avanos Innovation and Development lab located in the corporate innovation center on the Georgia Tech campus. They will be responsible for staffing and leading the interns and IT engineers at that location as well as connecting with the other leads in the GT ecosystem to drive innovation partnerships.
This leader is also responsible for the technology strategy and initiatives related to advanced analytics and Generative AI.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data architecture, analytics solutions and platforms, experience with app development, knowledge and experience working with generative AI, and experience with the IT development lifecycle. They will be able to staff and lead a team of engineers and interns, as well as to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. StrategicLeadership
- Define and implement the company's vision for data and AI, aligning with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Drive innovation by identifying and prioritizing opportunities to embed AI into product into various aspects of our business.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to position data and AI as a core competitive advantage.
- Establish best practices for data management, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security in compliance with industry standards (e.g., FDA, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Oversee ethical AI development practices, ensuring transparency and fairness in algorithmic decision-making.
- Define metrics to measure the effectiveness of AI and data-driven initiatives.
- Develop AI-enabled features for users.
- Lead initiatives in natural language processing, computer vision, and machine learning to enhance workflows and patient engagement.
- Build and mentor a team of data scientists, engineers, and AI specialists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Partner with IT, regulatory, and quality assurance teams to ensure robust data infrastructure and compliance.
- Leverage AI to optimize internal operations, such as supply chain efficiency and clinical trial design.
- Serve as a thought leader, representing the company in industry forums and conferences.
- Collaborate with external partners, academic institutions, and vendors to stay ahead of emerging trends in AI and healthcare technology.
- Communicate data and AI strategies effectively to non-technical stakeholders, including regulators, clinicians, and patients.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
- 10 years of technology industry experience including data modelling, database administration, data architecture, data lake development, algorithm development, API development, data visualization, project leadership.
- 5+ years of building and leading high performing engineering teams.
- Expertise in training and deploying generative models like DALL-E, GPT-3, etc.
- Proficiency with Python and Tensor Flow or related libraries.
- Ability to solve complex problems through novel applications of generative AI or other innovative technologies.
- Demonstrated project management experience across a variety of efforts involving personnel, strategic and organizational planning, business process improvement, business program and project management, and benchmarking and program metrics.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience.
- Demonstrated executive-level communications and interpersonal effectiveness skills across a variety of efforts.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of IT security and data privacy.
- Demonstrated experience with AGILE software development and JIRA for project tracking.
