Executive Director, Data, Analytics & Insights
The Executive Director, Data, Analytics & Insights is responsible for driving, identifying, delivering and communicating external and internal analytics, insights, measurement and best practices that influence strategy and enable actionable, quality, timely and executable commercial strategies. This position will be responsible for delivering market research, forecasting, analytics insights, data governance, data spend, and data ingestion in support of strategy and advice to inform and influence commercial direction, launch preparation and execution, as well as long-range planning.
They will achieve this by effectively leading a team of highly skilled, highly trained individuals; further supplemented with outside resource support, as needed. This position will serve as Global Capability Lead for Analytics Function worldwide.
- Forecasting:
Provide direction and guidance to the forecasting teams that provides design, development and execution of forecasting models for marketed products in support of short and long term planning for the commercial business. Set strategic direction to forecasting techniques and analysis that best serve Commercial Business needs. Provide channel, brand and gross to net forecasts. - Market Research and Competitive Intelligence:
Lead forward looking Market Research plans based on key business needs across business segments. Responsible for providing technical guidance and set standards for methodologies, ensure high quality deliverable, efficiency and applicability of research. Understand and draw insights on competitive landscape, present analyses and recommendations needed to guide high-level decisions affecting Commercial Business steering. - Analysis and ROI:
Lead and provide direction for cross functional scenario analysis and competitive response modeling in the Pet business segment. Guide leadership by providing insights using advanced analysis across brands relative to marketing and Distributor issues including performance tracking, promotional mix optimization modeling, behavioral segmentation, portfolio optimization and use of varied data sources to optimize promotional and resource allocation for AH business segments.
Provide direction and oversight to drive insights using leading edge ROI/Impact and reporting analyses across all species. - Data Management and Innovation:
Responsible for data specification that encourages desirable behavior in the valuation, creation, storage, use, archival and deletion of data and information. Drive new data technologies and synergies between information in order to create better deliverable to the business. Partner with IT, Sourcing and other key stakeholders to identify and manage key data sets to enable business insights and decisions. This is inclusive of data strategy, governance, stewardship, quality and warehousing.
Lead 'After Action Review' meetings on data impacts and outages across organization inclusive of next steps and prevention/elimination recommendations. Manage outside spend for data products as well as third party labor across all species and within AH Customer Experience - Reporting:
Responsible for delivering substantial information to business leaders in the organization that helps them make sound business decisions. Provide complex customized reports with business insights that provide information of key and dynamic business issues and trends. Support field force and brand teams with relevant insights for day-to-day activities. - Build, lead and manage a team of high caliber professionals. Ensures that the team is staffed with qualified, highly motivated talent. Inspires ownership, accountability, initiative, and engagement within the entire team by regularly communicating BI's vision, business objectives, performance outcomes, and future action steps. Actively develops people within their organization, and supports learning opportunities and encourages others to own their careers and take full advantage of BI career development offerings.
Drives performance management of all personnel including all disciplinary action to ensure personnel are meeting or exceeding expectations in their roles. - Constantly innovate and drive consistency to ensure that best in class methods/techniques/practices are being applied in each of the functional areas of this COE.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Marketing, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive experience of which at least ten (10) years were leading technical teams or people.
