What you’ll be doing ...

We are looking to hire a Senior Email Front-End Developer who focuses on HTML and CSS to deliver our customer-facing marketing communications. In this role, you will act as the team's Technical Expert, using your deep expertise to solve complex technical problems, architect unique solutions, and drive standardization across our development workflows. You will proactively evaluate technical challenges and optimize the authoring process to significantly improve speed-to-market for critical content changes.

In this role you will work with our Verizon business teams to build email and direct mail communications for our home and mobile businesses. You'll help deliver messaging that provides awareness of products, updates on services and offers to customers. Additionally, you will work with the larger development team to identify authoring opportunities and implement AEM development solutions.

Your efforts will inspire customer loyalty, grow Verizon's revenue, and enhance the overall customer experience by developing highly personalized customer communications that deliver more than 10 billion touches annually.

Responsibilities include:
  • Acting as the Technical Expert for the team, evaluating complex technical issues and providing actionable guidance, innovative solutions, and process standardization.
  • Leveraging wireframes, designs, and components to transform business requirements into email or mail communications development using HTML, CSS, and AEM components.
  • Developing more complex custom HTML projects that require high-touch communication with stakeholders.
  • Developing and consulting on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Advising and working with marketing teams and other stakeholders to address capability gaps and recommend solutions.
  • Thoroughly test all work to ensure adherence to functional and design requirements.
  • Working with QA testing resources to troubleshoot and resolve defects.
  • Collaborating with PMO and Team Operations to provide work estimates, establish timelines, and communicate statuses.
  • Consulting on process and technology innovations that enhance capabilities or increase productivity within the AEM ecosystem.
  • Mentoring junior developers on email development best practices.
What you’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to evaluate intricate problems, provide clear guidance, and drive standardization across development workflows.
  • Strong development experience using current HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with AEM 6.5 building blocks such as the following: templates, components, dispatcher and workflow.
  • Experience building emails.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira.
  • Experience working with a Digital Asset Management system.
  • Proficient in G-Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Forms, etc.).
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline preferred.
  • AEM Certification.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with content management systems or software.
  • Experience with the Adobe suite of communications products.
  • Knowledge of Adobe AEM component development and best practices.
  • Knowledge of content modeling.
