We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to support a large-scale migration from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 to RHEL 9. The ideal candidate will have extensive Linux administration experience, strong Python scripting skills, expertise in platform automation, and hands-on experience with container modernization, Kubernetes, and vulnerability remediation.

This role is responsible for modernizing enterprise Linux platforms, automating infrastructure processes, resolving compatibility challenges, and ensuring a secure, scalable production environment.

• Lead and execute the migration of enterprise applications and services from RHEL 7 to RHEL 9, ensuring application stability and binary compatibility.
• Troubleshoot and resolve package dependencies, shared library conflicts, and compatibility issues throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Build, compile, and maintain open-source software packages from source code based on project requirements.
• Create, maintain, and deploy RPM packages across enterprise Linux environments.
• Modernize legacy containerized applications by migrating workloads to RHEL Universal Base Images (UBI).
• Transform existing Docker-based container deployments to Podman.
• Deploy, administer, and support Rancher-managed Kubernetes clusters while migrating workloads across operating system versions.
• Design, develop, and maintain advanced Jenkins CI/CD pipelines using Groovy Shared Libraries.
• Develop Python-based automation tools and API integrations to streamline vulnerability reporting, compliance, and remediation.
• Analyze vulnerability scan results, remediate security findings, and patch identified CVEs.
• Automate Linux system provisioning, configuration, and management using Ansible.

• 8+ years of experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) with strong hands-on expertise in RHEL 9.
• Strong programming and automation experience using Python.
• Experience developing Jenkins pipelines using Groovy and Jenkins DSL.
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, security remediation, and CVE patching.
• Strong understanding of Linux package management, RPM packaging, binary compatibility, and shared library dependency resolution.
• Experience with container technologies including Docker, Podman, and RHEL Universal Base Images (UBI).
• Strong Kubernetes administration experience with Rancher.
• Hands-on experience using Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
