Four Ways Consulting is seeking a Production Engineer II to support mission-critical Java applications running on AWS cloud infrastructure. This position combines production support, site reliability engineering (SRE), observability, incident management, automation, and performance optimization responsibilities to ensure highly available and reliable enterprise services.

As a Production Engineer II, you will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, troubleshooting, and improving enterprise applications operating within AWS environments. You will work closely with development, Dev Ops, cloud, and operations teams to ensure system reliability, minimize downtime, and improve operational efficiency.

The role requires strong technical expertise in Java, AWS services, SQL, observability platforms, production support processes, and incident management. You will participate in root cause analysis, automation initiatives, release support, and continuous improvement activities while helping maintain business-critical systems.

• Provide L1 and L2 production support for enterprise Java applications.
• Monitor application performance, system health, and infrastructure stability.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents.
• Participate in incident management, escalation handling, and service restoration activities.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive solutions.
• Monitor cloud environments using AWS Cloud Watch and observability platforms.
• Analyze logs, metrics, traces, and application behavior to identify issues proactively.
• Support application deployments, releases, and production changes.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve application reliability and maintainability.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and monitoring activities.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and availability.
• Support CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–5 years of experience in Production Support, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Dev Ops, or Application Support.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java-based applications.
• Experience working with AWS cloud platforms and services.
• Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting, analysis, and data validation.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Watch monitoring and alerting.
• Experience using observability platforms such as Dynatrace.
• Knowledge of application monitoring, performance analysis, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience supporting production environments and critical business services.
• Hands-on experience with incident management and problem management processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Experience working within CI/CD environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Knowledge of Linux administration and scripting.
• Experience with automation tools and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, or containerized environments.
• Familiarity with Agile and Dev Ops methodologies.
• Experience supporting high-availability, enterprise-scale applications.
