Our client, a global data and analytics company that provides data and technology services, is hiring for an SMC Analyst
. This is an initial 6–12 month contract position with potential for FTE conversion
.
As an SMC Analyst
, you will play a key role in a modern Service Management Centre focused on service stability, major incident response, problem management, and continuous improvement
. You’ll work closely with engineering teams, cloud providers, service owners, and business stakeholders to drive service restoration, investigate root causes, and improve the reliability of business-critical services.
Pay Rate- 30-34/hr. on a W2
Schedule Options What You’ll Be Doing- Coordinate technical teams during major incidents and drive service restoration through resolution
- Assess business impact and ensure appropriate escalation of critical issues
- Lead incident communications, bridge calls, and maintain situational awareness throughout incident life cycles
- Monitor the health and performance of business-critical services and analyze events and alerts
- Support Incident, Event, Change, Problem, and Major Incident Management processes
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and facilitate post-incident reviews
- Coordinate corrective and preventative actions to reduce recurring incidents
- Support production operations across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and continuous service improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with Major Incident Management, Production Support, Service Operations, Problem Management, or IT Service Management
- Experience with Service Now or similar ITSM platforms
- Knowledge of ITIL-based service management practices
- Experience with event management and monitoring tools
- Understanding of cloud/hybrid environments, Windows/Linux systems, and networking fundamentals
- Strong communication and coordination skills, particularly in high-pressure situations
- Highly proactive, curious, and comfortable challenging existing processes
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, service owners, and business stakeholders
