Operations Engineer, Quality Engineering
Overview
We are seeking a detailed-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join our new manufacturing location in Alpharetta, Georgia. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating production activities to meet our customer demand, quality standards and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in an ISO 13485 regulated environment as well as being well-versed in supply chain planning, inventory control and production workflows/value chain mapping.
This is a full time, onsite position working out of our Alpharetta location.
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
- Work closely with the Production Team/ Manager and S&OP manager to ensure an efficient production planning.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Warehousing/ Logistics, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Finance (regarding impact or financial analysis) and Engineering) to ensure production plans are aligned with operational capacity, maintenance schedules, material and component availability, and quality standards.
- Monitor work orders and production progress, proactively identifying and resolving any delays or bottlenecks.
- Adjust schedules as needed due to material shortages, equipment failures, or changes in demand. Proactively align/escale in case a decision needs to be made regarding prioritization in the schedule.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Support ERP/MRP system data integrity, including BOMs, routings, and inventory parameters.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning, including on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and inventory turns.
- Support new product introductions (NPI), New markets/ country introductions by coordinating ERP/MRP readiness and materials planning.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biology, or Operational Management required. A Master’s degree in related fields or an MBA, preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
- Experience:
- 3-5+ years in Operations management in an ISO
13485 regulated industry - Experience with regulatory environments such as GMP, FDA, or ISO standards
- 3-5+ years in Operations management in an ISO
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven leadership and team management expertise
- Proficiency in lean methodologies and Six Sigma tools
- Experience in the identification of the 8 wastes, line balancing and performing theory of constraints.
- Experience in developing and sustaining a 6S program
- Experience in developing and sustaining morning markets and value stream structure organization.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as minitab, power
BI, Tableau. - Proficiency in ERP and Master data, preferably in Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Experience in developing and continuously improving upon operations KPI's such as manufacturing efficiency, Capacity utilizations, Process Cycle times, Reject/Scrap rates, Inventory Accuracy, First Pass Yield, and Monitoring budget to fiscal year plan.
