Overview
Play a key role in ensuring product quality as a Final Quality Inspector at Premier Automation. In this role, you’ll serve as the final checkpoint on the production floor, overseeing quality throughout the build process and ensuring every control panel meets engineering design, quality standards, and customer expectations before shipment. This position is based on-site at our Alpharetta, GA facility, supporting production operations on the shop floor, and is ideal for an experienced professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, understands control panel builds at a deep level, and holds high standards.
You’ll act as the customer’s last line of defense while also coaching and supporting production teams to maintain consistency, accuracy, and overall build quality.
- Job Type: Full-time or part-time/contract opportunity based on experience and availability
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, typical shop hours (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with flexibility based on production needs
- Location & Structure: Based in Alpharetta, GA, this role is primarily on‑site, working on the production floor, with minimal travel and reporting to the Operations Manager
- Team Collaboration & Impact: Work closely with Electrical Testers, production staff, engineering, and product specialist teams, playing a key role in ensuring consistent product quality and readiness for shipment

- Oversee product quality throughout the production process, ensuring control panels meet engineering design, quality standards, and customer expectations before shipment
- Conduct multi‑point quality checks and targeted final inspections to verify workmanship, build accuracy, and overall panel readiness
- Ensure control panels align with electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, CAD layouts, BOMs, and established quality standards, including proper wire routing, labeling, compression lug crimps, busbar assemblies, and overall fit and finish
- Audit traveler documents, inspection checklists, and testing records to confirm required quality and testing procedures have been completed appropriately
- Identify nonconformances, coordinate corrective actions, and verify rework has been completed prior to release
- Prepare panels for UL Manufacturer’s Technical Representative (MTR) review and serve as final approval for shipment through Certificate of Conformance (CoC) sign‑off
- Serve as a primary point of contact during customer, compliance, and quality audits, partnering with organizations such as Siemens, TUV, and other related groups as needed
- Coach and mentor electricians and Electrical Testers on quality expectations, workmanship standards, and best practices across the production floor
- Partner with production, engineering, and product specialist teams to identify recurring issues and support continuous improvement in build quality and manufacturing consistency
What You’ll Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in control panel wiring, assembly, testing, quality inspection, or related industrial manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of industrial control panels, including electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, BOMs, wiring standards, and overall panel layout
- Proven ability to identify quality issues, uphold workmanship standards, and support accountability throughout the production process
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and guidance within a hands‑on production environment
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement
- Experience working in a UL 508A panel shop environment
- Familiarity supporting UL Manufacturer’s Technical Representative (MTR) inspections or compliance processes
- Experience coaching or mentoring others within a manufacturing or production environment
- Background in quality systems, corrective actions, or continuous improvement initiatives
