The Production Operator is a versatile, multi-skilled manufacturing professional responsible for operating laser cutting equipment, rubber cutting machines, and conducting warehouse operations. This role requires technical proficiency across multiple production systems, quality control, inventory management, and warehouse organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate adaptability, cross-functional expertise, and the ability to prioritize tasks across laser operations, rubber cutting operations, and warehouse activities.
This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and takes ownership of multiple operational areas.
- Operate Trumpf 2030 Fiber Laser with precision and expertise to cut stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials according to specifications
- Verify raw material specifications and quality before initiating cutting operations
- Execute cutting tasks on 1MM and 1.4MM stainless steel thin plates, carbon steel, and aluminum, maintaining highest quality standards
- Produce finished parts within established turnaround times; deliver Impact-branded parts and plates within 1 day of file submission
- Operate nesting software (Boost) to optimize material layout and minimize waste
- Monitor cutting parameters in real time and adjust settings to maintain quality and consistency
- Perform comprehensive quality inspections on all cut materials, verifying dimensional accuracy, flatness, edge condition, and surface integrity
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, and contaminants from finished parts
- Reject or rework parts that do not meet quality standards (scratches, gauges, dimensional variance)
- Ensure thin plates are securely crated and labeled with accurate product identification
- Clean catcher tube and remove shot accumulation
- Clean laser optics and lenses as needed to maintain cutting precision
- Perform focus tests to ensure optimal beam alignment
- Inspect machine condition for signs of wear or malfunction
- Clean slats and internal laser components
- Clean exterior surfaces and working surfaces
- Replace air filters and exhaust system components
- Empty and clean waste drums and scrap collection systems
- Operate and maintain both rubber cutting machines with proficiency
- Regularly clean and sanitize rubber cutting machines and surrounding work areas
- Change cutting blades proactively to ensure consistent, high-quality cuts
- Monitor cutting quality in real time and make adjustments as needed
- Laminate rubber sheets as needed for production orders
- Provide same-day turnaround on rubber-cutting jobs when operationally feasible
- Maintain rubber material inventory and stock levels with clear labeling and organization
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders
- Count and verify all shipments for accuracy and completeness
- Organize and store raw materials (stainless steel, aluminum, rubber) in designated shelving and storage areas
- Label all materials with clear, legible identification for traceability
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits; flag discrepancies and out-of-stock items immediately
- Pick and pack finished orders with precision, ensuring correct parts, quantities, and quality
- Prepare shipments for dispatch; verify labeling, documentation, and crate integrity
- Maintain crate inventory levels; order new crates proactively to prevent stockouts
- Ensure all materials and finished products are organized, clearly marked, and accessible
- Maintain a clean, organized work area free of scrap materials and debris
- Sweep, dispose of scrap material, and sanitize work surfaces daily
- Ensure the production area is organized and efficient to support all operational activities
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA requirements for laser operation, machinery, and warehouse work
