Send Relief mobilizes churches and partners to meet needs, build relationships, and share the gospel. The Send Relief Ministry Center Coordinator in Boston will lead local compassion ministry efforts, mobilize volunteers and churches, cultivate partnerships, and provide operational leadership at the Ministry Center to advance restoration‑based, contextualized ministry across the city.
AboutThe Role
As a core member of the Boston Send Relief team, you will lead compassion ministry strategy and execution: assess community needs, equip churches, train volunteers, coordinate mission teams, and partner with local ministries and church planters to create sustainable, gospel‑centered impact.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Boston compassion ministry: assess needs, train and equip churches/planters, form partnerships, and mobilize volunteers into coordinated restoration‑based ministry.
- Support the Ministry Center Director in cultivating networks, coordinating vision tours, mission trips, and partner engagement.
- Grow and steward core ministry activities that provide practical learning environments for churches, partners, and individuals.
- Collaborate with a coalition of local ministry partners to meet community needs, build relationships, and share the gospel.
- Provide hands‑on leadership for mission teams and on‑site volunteer operations at the Ministry Center.
- Maintain positive, consistent communication and relationships with ministry partners.
- Provide second‑line leadership and oversight for Journeymen, consultants, volunteers, and Ministry Center staff.
- Partner with the Ministry Center Director to set goals, track strategic metrics in NAMB systems, and use online tools to mobilize churches.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Ministry Center leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in contextualized or cross‑cultural ministry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Residence in or willingness to relocate to the Boston area.
- Strong written and verbal communication; excellent listening skills; polished public presentation ability.
- Experience training, mobilizing, and coaching volunteers and church teams.
- Competency with data systems and online tools for goal‑tracking and mobilization.
- Knowledge of NAMB continental strategy and basic understanding of SBC organizational/financial structure preferred.
- Ability to travel regionally as needed.
- Primarily on‑site at the Boston Ministry Center with occasional hybrid work as approved.
- Flexibility for evening/weekend events, mission team schedules, and regional travel.

- Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; frequently use hands and arms for teaching and leadership tasks; occasionally stand and walk.
- Occasionally lift/move up to 10 pounds; normal vision requirements (close, distance, color, depth perception).
- Ability to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations as needed.
