Emergency Room (ER) Nurse
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse / Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Emergency Room (ER) Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced emergency department. The ER Nurse will assess, prioritize, and treat patients with acute illnesses, traumatic injuries, and life-threatening conditions while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The ideal candidate is experienced in emergency nursing, critical thinking, and delivering high-quality patient-centered care under pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage according to acuity.
- Assess, monitor, and stabilize patients with emergency medical conditions.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and emergency treatments.
- Assist physicians during emergency procedures and trauma resuscitations.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses to treatment.
- Operate emergency medical equipment, including cardiac monitors, ventilators, and defibrillators.
- Respond to medical emergencies, trauma activations, stroke alerts, and cardiac arrests.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, EMS personnel, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure emergency environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
- Experience with trauma centers or Level I/II emergency departments.
- Experience with electronic medical records (Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
