$5,000 Sign-On Bonus To be paid out in 3-installments after 90 days of successful employment

SUMMARY

To provide nursing care to residents as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with standards of nursing practices and regulations, and as may be directed by the Director of Nursing or Nursing department Managers; and, in doing so, to lead or direct licensed and non-professional nursing staff in the delivery or direct resident care and support functions.

Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB, and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Facility Management Functions

Develops or expands programs or services for medical and vocational rehabilitation, and community health and welfare promotion.

Negotiates for improvement of and additions to facility buildings and equipment.

Directs and coordinates medical, nursing and administrative staffs and services.

Implements and communicates policies and procedures for various departments.

Conducts regular rounds to monitor delivery of nursing care.

Conducts regular rounds to monitor operation of support departments.

Conducts regular rounds to monitor cleanliness and appearance of facility.

Conducts regular rounds to monitor resident needs are being addressed.

Ensure consultants and other support resources are appropriately utilized.

Administers fiscal operations such as budget planning, accounting, and financial review.

Ensures facility works within planned budget.

Directs hiring and training or personnel.

Ensure compliance of employment laws.

Represents establishment at community meetings and promotes programs through various news media.

Maintain a working knowledge and ensure compliance with all governmental regulations.

Maintains CES’s Quality Assurance standards.

Develop and implement a marketing strategy for the facility.

Residents’ Rights Functions

Understands, complies with and promotes all rules regarding Residents’ Rights.

Safety & Job Hazards Functions

Ensure work area s are safe

Procedures regarding cleaners or hazardous materials or objects are strictly adhered to.

Equipment and supplies are properly stored.

Ensure Universal Precautions procedures are followed.

Ensure Infection Control procedures are followed

Ensure Isolation procedures are followed.

Ensure Fire, Safety & Sanitation procedures are followed.

Promptly report any hazardous conditions and equipment to the supervisor.

Report all accidents and incidents.

Follow all safety policies to assure resident safety.

Inservice & Staff Developments Functions

Attend Orientation

Attend In-services as required by the state

Participate in training new staff members as requested.

Other Duties

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required.

EDUCATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Two to four year nursing program certificate from an accredited college or university; two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience as a Charge Nurse or supervisory experience. Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed by the State.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises Certified Nursing Assistants on his/her tour of duty which includes the authority to terminate employment. Termination of employment for other than gross misconduct must get final approval from the DON and the Administrator. May participate in evaluation of CNA’s job performance.
