Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Alpharetta, GA-Onsite

** Duration** : 6+ months with possible extensions

** Pay** : $32-$35/hr. (depending on experience)

** Shift** : 9-80 Schedule. 1 st  Shift

* + As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer in the Defense and Aerospace industry, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the manufacturing processes and products meet the highest quality standards and compliance requirements.

+ You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement quality assurance measures, identify areas for improvement, and ensure adherence to industry regulations.

Your role will contribute to the overall success and reliability of defense and aerospace products.

* Key Responsibilities:

* + Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.

+ Conduct regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, procedures, and products to identify potential quality issues and ensure adherence to established standards.

+ Collaborate with manufacturing teams to establish and maintain effective quality control measures, including inspection plans, sampling procedures, and statistical process control methods.

+ Identify areas for process improvement and develop strategies to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing efficiency.

+ Analyze data and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues, reduce variability, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.

+ Collaborate with engineering teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as process optimization, root cause analysis, and implementation of quality tools and methodologies.

+ Supplier Evaluate and monitor suppliers' performance to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and delivery requirements.

+ Conduct supplier audits and assessments and collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and improve their manufacturing processes.

+ Drive supplier development initiatives to enhance overall supply chain quality and performance.

+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation, including inspection records, test reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.

+ Generate quality metrics and reports to communicate key performance indicators, trends, and areas requiring improvement to management and cross-functional teams.

+ Prepare documentation for customer audits and participate in customer quality reviews, addressing inquiries and providing necessary information.

+ Stay updated with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems applicable to defense and aerospace manufacturing.

+ Ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, ITAR, and other customer-specific requirements.

+ Participate in regulatory and customer audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing compliance-related inquiries.

* Required Skills:

* + Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or similar).

+ Previous experience (typically 3-5 years) in a manufacturing quality engineering role, preferably in the defense and aerospace industry.

+ Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, tools, and methodologies, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, statistical process control, and root cause analysis.

+ Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, and ITAR.

+ Experience in conducting audits, inspections, and supplier assessments.

+ Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, using statistical software and quality tools.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.

+ Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

+ Professional certifications related to quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer) are a plus.
