You’ll ensure a quick and easy customer experience and keep the store clean and clutter free. Flexibility is key, as you may occasionally work in different areas of the store to maintain the cleanliness of the floor and stockrooms and help customers find great deals.

ResponsibilitiesA Day in the Life – Sales and Customer Service- Work with the team to ensure the sales floor stays "runway ready," and is sized and filled in through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day
- Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms (in‑store, online and mobile), including operating a point‑of‑sale system, bagging items of all sizes, handling bulky and sometimes heavy items such as boxes, and ensuring a seamless and friendly experience
- Create a smooth fitting‑room experience by greeting and assisting customers, sorting, and returning clothing to the floor
- Keep the stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards
- Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program
- Receive, unload freight, unpack, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments
- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards
- Prepare and ship customer orders following quality, packing, and shipping standards
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms
- Provide general support to the store (e.g., set up special events, organize backroom, markdowns, and relocate store fixtures)
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Stock and Fulfillment only: frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state‑specific laws. Pay ranges may differ by location. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience: $16.45 – $17.15 hourly.
