The Role:A Parts Professional provides prompt and courteous service to all customers over the telephone, in store, or in the dealer's shop. They look up parts applications in catalogs or POS system and process orders with high accuracy and courtesy, advising customers on technical matters. They exhibit thorough knowledge of products, standards, warranties, sales programs, and policies, and serve as a resource for store personnel.

- Implements appropriate sales practices such as greeting customers, demonstrating product knowledge, and quickly understanding customer needs.
- Maintains customer satisfaction by serving all customers, securing correct parts, and resolving issues.
- Demonstrates professional attitude, conduct, and appearance.
- Maintains POS computer skills by learning and using catalogs and systems, practicing asset security controls, and understanding pricing methods.
- Provides sales support by processing stock orders, reporting overages/shortages/damaged merchandise, and ensuring store appearance.
- Participates in required training.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to establish and maintain courteous, efficient, professional service.
- Functional literacy in part numbers and line codes, ensuring accurate selection and delivery.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast‑paced setting and work calmly under pressure.
- ASE Parts Specialist (automotive) certification.
- Knowledge of local area and ability to operate a vehicle with manual transmission.
- Availability for retail hours at any store location as assigned.
- Capable of operating TAMS POS system and cataloging.
- Ability to use adding machine and process cash, check, and credit card transactions.
- Strong visual recognition and memory of letters and numbers.
- Capacity to work on feet for entire shift, lift and move parts up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach upper shelves (10 ft) with stool or ladder when needed.
- Capability to move heavy equipment (engine blocks, core barrels) using aids.
