INDIEHOUSE is Atlanta's home for artistic, hard-to-find fragrance from around the world. We curate independent and luxury fragrance houses that most people have never had the chance to smell, and we teach our clients how to experience them. Founded in 2019 by a European-trained perfumer, we run two boutiques (Phipps Plaza in Buckhead and Downtown Alpharetta) and have welcomed more than 30,000 clients and thousands of guests to our fragrance classes.
We are independently owned, small, and fast-moving, and we care about craft, hospitality, and doing things properly.
The Assistant Store Manager is the Store Manager's key partner and a preparatory role for running a store of your own. You represent INDIEHOUSE as a brand ambassador in everything from how you greet a client to how you describe a scent.
We are looking for a strong second-in-command for our Alpharetta store. You will partner with the Store Manager to run the store day to day, lead the floor and the team in her absence, teach our signature fragrance classes, build lasting relationships with our clients, and own the operational routines that keep a busy boutique running smoothly.
This is a selling environment and a hands-on retail leadership role. When there is a client in the store, you are with them. When there isn't, you are on the phone with our best clients telling them what just arrived or inviting them to an upcoming event. You will sell, you will teach, you will clientele, and you will make the store better every week.
We are a small team, and we work like one. Everyone pitches in, everyone covers for each other, and nobody says "that's not my job." The people who thrive here like each other, hold each other to a high standard, and take pride in what the store feels like when a client walks in.

- Deliver a warm, knowledgeable, luxury-level client experience and carry a personal sales goal
- Coach and direct part-time team members on the floor and during classes
- Set the tone for the team: positive, collaborative, and focused on the client
- Know our clients by name, remember what they love, and follow up after every meaningful visit
- Use downtime on the floor to call and message our top clients about new arrivals, restocks, and upcoming classes and events
- Maintain accurate client notes so the whole team can pick up the relationship
- Personally invite clients to workshops and events and drive attendance
- Turn one-time visitors into regulars and regulars into advocates
- Learn our class format and teach fragrance classes independently, several times a week and more often in November and December
- Support private and corporate workshops

- Keep the store stocked and ready: class materials, packaging, supplies, and consumables
- Manage class bookings and event logistics
- Draft the weekly schedule for the Store Manager's approval
- Build and maintain opening, closing, and training checklists so the team runs consistently
- Help lead holiday readiness: staffing, inventory, and class capacity
- 2+ years in specialty or luxury retail leadership (Assistant Manager, Keyholder, or Store Manager)
- You have been accountable for a sales number and can tell us what you did to hit it
- A natural clienteler: you keep a book, you pick up the phone without being told, and clients come back asking for you
- A team player first: you would rather the store win than be the…
