Business Development Manager (Catering Sales)

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager supports La Bonanza Hospitality's catering sales efforts by identifying new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, leading a team of sales and event coordinators, collaborating in event planning, and managing direct sales and follow-up. This position reports directly to the Catering Director.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drive the strategic initiative in increasing sales revenue.
  • Prepare presentations for the Executive team.
  • Maintain a current list of potential prospects.
  • Perform cold outreach via phone and email to potential new clients.
  • Develop quotes and proposals.
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; develop and negotiate contracts.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to hand off new contracts for implementation.
  • Develop personal expertise and credibility within La Bonanza Hospitality's competitive landscape.
  • Promote the company's services through PR and social media collaborations.
  • Prospect for new customers using various research and outreach methods.
  • Keep the CRM up‑to‑date and manage pipeline metrics.
  • Cultivate long‑term relationships with customers and generate repeat business.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of customer experience.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and communication with co‑workers and clients.
  • Post‑event follow‑up with client.
  • Ensure proper client billing and collection.
  • Consistently strive to exceed clients’ expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in catering sales.
  • Proven ability to generate short‑term sales and manage a variety of corporate and social event clients, including weddings.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Caterease, Tripleseat, and Ezcater.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred but not required.
  • Ability to generate two‑digit monthly sales within the first 3 months.
  • Flexible schedule and strong organizational skills essential.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field is a plus and preferred.
  • Previous hotel or restaurant (Food & Beverage) sales background required.
  • 4+ years of BDM experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of hospitality experience, with thorough knowledge of the sales process, terminology, and account management.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs daily.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects.
  • Working various shifts including weekends and holidays.
