- High school or equivalent
- One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
- Knowledge of electrician’s tools and how to use them
- Working on or above 600V or 69kV industrial high voltage distribution systems requires qualification
- Most job sites require NCCER certification for A-class Electricians
- Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
- Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring, measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, pulls wiring through conduit, splices wires, connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads, tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement, may repair faulty equipment or systems, perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
CompensationFinal agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical InvolvementMay be required to climb ladders, scaffolds, structures, and other vertical or horizontal work; maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures; reach in all directions; handle and manipulate objects and materials; coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lift 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carry objects, tools, equipment; stand / sit;
walk; push; pull; bend; kneel; crouch/squat; see with or without correction; hear with or without correction; wear respirator and other PPE; use stepstools; work in excessive heat, excessive cold, or loud environment.
