Agentic AI Engineer; Azure Agent Framework

About the role

As a Senior Agentic AI Engineer (.NET), you will make an impact by designing and implementing intelligent, AI‑driven software solutions using modern agentic frameworks, Azure AI services, and .NET technologies.

With your expertise in Azure Agent framework knowledge Agentic frameworks then .Net (Microsoft Semantic kernel) RAG etc you will contribute to the development of high-quality applications.

8+ years of IT experience

• Design and implement solutions using Azure Agent Frameworks, agentic systems, and multi‑agent orchestration patterns
• Build intelligent applications leveraging .NET, C#, Microsoft Semantic Kernel, and RAG (Retrieval‑Augmented Generation) techniques
• Develop end‑to‑end architectures for multi‑agent solutions using Microsoft AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and agent frameworks
• Implement backend services and integrations connecting frontend apps with AI services, data lakes, and APIs using Python, Type Script, and Azure PaaS
• Design, query, and maintain databases such as SQL Server or Postgre
  
  SQL, including ORM use with Entity Framework
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and efficient AI‑driven solutions
• Ensure application performance, reliability, and maintainability through best‑practice coding, testing, and optimization

• Experience with Azure Agent Frameworks, agentic architecture, or similar AI orchestration frameworks
• Strong experience with .NET, C#, and Microsoft Semantic Kernel
• Proven experience designing or implementing RAG‑based AI workflows
• Strong background in database development using SQL Server or Postgre
  
  SQL, including ORM experience with Entity Framework
• Hands‑on experience building backend services in Python, Type Script, or Azure cloud‑native components
• Understanding of cloud‑native concepts and Azure services used for AI and application development
• Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and efficient application architectures
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with effective communication

• Experience with Microsoft AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or other LLM‑powered platforms
• Background developing multi‑agent or autonomous workflow systems
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

The annual salary for this position is between $81,337 to $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
