Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer to support critical enrollment platforms used during open enrollment periods. This role is backend-heavy (approximately 60%) with strong frontend responsibility (40%), requiring hands‑on expertise in Spring Boot and React. The ideal candidate can step into an existing codebase, handle production‑impacting issues, and contribute immediately with minimal ramp‑up.

• Supports two core enrollment platforms:
  • Practitioner Enrollments (PSS)
  • Employer/Employee Self‑Service Enrollments (ESS)
• ESS is the primary platform used by employees to enroll in benefits
• Team handles high‑impact production issues during open enrollment
• Minor issues handled by Prod Support; major customer‑impacting issues flow directly to this team via Jira
• Agile environment with active production support responsibilities

• Java, Spring Boot, Microservices
• React (hard requirement)
• AWS (EC2, S3, SQS, Event Bridge preferred)
• SQL databases
• Kafka (event‑driven architecture)

• Strong hands‑on experience with Spring Boot Java
• React experience (recent and production-level; Angular‑only profiles will not be considered)
• Experience working in AWS environments
• Strong SQL skills
• Ability to support production systems and troubleshoot live issues
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment with Jira

• Kafka or event‑driven architecture experience
• Benefits, enrollment, or HR systems experience
  
  AWS CDK exposure
• Experience working in regulated or high‑availability systems
