Position Summary
The Senior Software Quality Control Engineer will work independently or as part of a team across the full software development lifecycle. The role includes serving as a subject matter expert, managing test environments, evaluating software, and assisting in the resolution of production incidents as needed.
Responsibilities- Continually develop and lead professional expertise in all aspects of test engineering.
- Follow the department test process and evaluate requirement documents in depth.
- Lead and resolve difficult problems, selecting testing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
- Analyze and test concepts, understand project requirements, and create/execute automated and manual test cases on new and existing products.
- Ensure quality meets functional, technical, and regulatory compliance and maintains high overall product quality.
- Provide test plans, test scripts, and test summary reports.
- Interface with Lottery SIS and other Product and Development staff to resolve issues promptly.
- Gather and analyze data to support business cases, proposed projects, and system requirements.
- Reproduce issues, when necessary, to assist development in fixing problems.
- Handle project escalations for assigned projects and submit clear bug reports to management.
- Create and maintain test environments, controlling their integrity throughout projects.
- Monitor bug‑report status, provide test metrics, and report risks to Software Development Managers and the SQC Engineering Manager.
- Mentor all levels of SQC Engineers and coordinate activities of other personnel, including team lead responsibilities.
- Network with key contacts outside Central Gaming Systems.
- Determine methods and procedures for new assignments and coordinate related activities.
- 8+ years’ experience in software testing, test environment setup, and result logging (or equivalent).
- Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) from ISTQB preferred;
Certified Software Tester (CSTE) also preferred. - Project management skills and exposure to project‑based work structures.
- 2‑ or 4‑year college degree, preferably in a technical area.
- In‑depth knowledge of the lottery gaming industry.
- Working knowledge of JIRA, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and qTest.
- Experience supporting Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Perl or other shell languages).
- Preferred experience with Selenium Web Driver, Appium, Python, SQL Server, and automated testing tools.
- Travel up to 5% of the time; valid travel documents required.

- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to handle stress in a fast‑paced environment.
- Logical problem‑solving ability and knowledge of quality‑control best practices.
- Experience recommending process improvements and change‑control practices.
