We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our engineering team ’ll collaborate with product managers, clients at leading financial institutions, and cross‑functional engineering teams to design and deliver resilient, high‑volume solutions that leverage modern APIs, microservices, third‑party integrations and cloud infrastructure. Your work will help shape solution architecture and drive reliable, performant production systems.

• Define and implement solution architecture for high‑volume, resilient systems.
• Design, develop, debug and test object‑oriented Java/J2EE code and RESTful APIs (JSON over HTTPS).
• Build cloud‑native services following 12‑Factor principles and work with messaging platforms and integrations (Kafka, MQ, ESB).
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum delivery model with product managers, clients and engineering teams.
• Contribute to CI/CD and Dev Sec Ops  practices to enable repeatable, secure deployments.
• Perform database design, performance tuning and optimization across relational and non‑relational stores.
• Apply design patterns and algorithmic approaches to improve reliability, maintainability, readability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and operate within complex IT environments, including networking, security and performance considerations.

• 5+ years recent experience as a member of engineering teams delivering resilient, high‑volume solutions built in Java/J2EE.
• 3+ years hands‑on experience building RESTful APIs (JSON over HTTPS) with recent hands‑on experience with Java and Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot).
• + years hands‑on experience designing, writing, debugging and testing object‑oriented code.
• Experience developing 12‑Factor cloud‑native services messaging architectures (Kafka, MQ, ESB).
• Experience with both relational and non‑relational database technologies (SQL and No
  
  SQL).
• Advanced understanding of design patterns, software algorithms and coding techniques that improve testability and maintainability.
• High proficiency with modern CI/CD and Dev Sec Ops  practices.

• Cloud migration and platforms experience (Azure, PCF, Open Shift, AWS).
• Experience with Splunk.
• Experience with file transfer technologies (NDM / Connect: Direct / IBM File Gateway).

• This role is on‑site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in‑person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in‑person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

• Approximately 10% of travel off‑site or to other office locations is expected.
