AI Engineer, Marketing

We’re looking for an AI Engineer to join our Marketing team in a full-time, onsite role in Alpharetta, GA.

About the Role

Aptean’s Marketing team is building the AI-powered workflows that will define how modern marketing gets done, and we need a technically strong engineer to help make that real. This is not a traditional AI research role or a pure product engineering position. It’s a hands‑on builder role at the intersection of AI development and marketing operations.

You’ll work directly with our marketing organization — alongside Sales, Rev Ops, Product, and Data teams — to understand how campaigns, demand generation, competitive analysis, product marketing, and event execution actually work. From there, you’ll design, build, and deploy agentic AI systems and automations that make these workflows faster, smarter, and more scalable. You’ll also help the team cut through fragmented, ad‑hoc AI usage and bring structure to how AI is applied across the function.

This is an individual contributor role with real growth potential. If you’re technically sharp, intellectually curious about marketing, a great communicator and motivated by the measurable impact your work creates, this is a role where you can grow fast.

About You

You’re a technically strong engineer who is comfortable building and deploying AI agents, writing code, and working with tools like Claude and similar platforms to automate real workflows. You don’t need to be a marketing expert — but you’re genuinely curious about how marketing works, and you’re the type of person who goes and figures things out rather than waiting for requirements to land in your lap.

You bring:

  • Hands‑on experience building, deploying, and maintaining AI agents, automations, or intelligent systems
  • Strong coding ability in Python (experience with JavaScript is a plus) and comfort working with APIs, LLMs, and AI tooling
  • Familiarity with modern AI concepts such as agentic systems, prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and orchestration frameworks
  • Ability to evaluate build‑vs‑buy decisions: assess tools, run proof‑of‑concepts, and implement the right solution
  • Experience integrating systems across platforms (e.g., CRM, marketing tools, analytics, or data pipelines)
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to independently translate business needs into technical solutions
  • A metrics‑driven mindset — you can measure and communicate the impact of your work (time saved, efficiency gained, revenue impact)
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder skills — you can embed with teams, understand workflows, and earn trust
  • Cross‑functional instincts: you proactively seek out information rather than waiting for requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
To be ahead of the pack, you might have:
  • Experience working with or alongside marketing, sales, or GTM teams in a B2B environment
  • Familiarity with marketing workflows such as campaign execution, demand generation, product marketing, or event planning
  • Experience integrating AI or automation with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo), or similar tools
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Lang Chain, Airflow, Temporal) or building scalable AI systems
  • Background in analytics engineering, data pipelines, or data integration
  • Prior experience building AI solutions that were successfully adopted by non‑technical teams
  • Experience in fast‑moving or startup‑like environments

  • Design and deploy AI agents and automations that streamline marketing workflows such as campaign planning, audience targeting, messaging, event execution, and content generation
  • Build and orchestrate multi‑step, agentic AI processes that automate tasks and augment human decision‑making
  • Partner with marketing, sales, and product teams to identify high‑impact use cases and translate them into practical AI solutions
  • Integrate AI systems with CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, analytics systems, and external data sources via APIs and pipelines
