This position is for a Senior Java Developer within the Client Channels Authentication and Security Team based in Alpharetta. The role requires hands‑on involvement across the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of secure, scalable applications.
Responsibilities- This position is for a Senior Developer in the Client Channels Authentication and Security Team at the Alpharetta office.
- This is a hands‑on development role and requires the candidate to be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, software design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- The candidate is expected to provide technical expertise and recommendations when assessing new software projects and initiatives to support and enhance existing applications.
- The candidate may also be required to provide technical, troubleshooting, and design guidance to peer application development teams.
- Working within a geographically dispersed team, the candidate will be responsible for system design and project delivery.
- The ideal candidate will be self‑motivated and capable of working in a dynamic environment with limited or no supervision.
- Lead a functional area or deliverable as required.
- Participate in design discussions and contribute to the architecture process.
- Adhere to and contribute toward application development guidelines, while helping improve existing standards.
- Develop and implement security guidelines and best practices.
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in software development principles and practices, including design patterns, code structure, programming languages, continuous integration, and deployment methodologies.
- 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience with Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Integration.
- 3–5+ years of experience with Java server technologies such as J2EE and Servlets.
- 3–5+ years of experience with tools used for Java development, including Tomcat and Maven.
- 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience in API and Web Services development using REST, SOAP, and JSON.
- Proficiency with at least one database technology such as Oracle, DB2, or Sybase.
- Experience with Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Strong knowledge of object‑oriented programming principles, design patterns, and methodologies.
- Good understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP, JSON, and API design for extensibility and portability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of web technologies and web architectures, including responsive design.
- Knowledge of internet attack vectors, security protection mechanisms, web application vulnerabilities, and remediation techniques.
- Experience with source control tools (preferably Git) and Continuous Integration tools.
- Prior experience working on client‑facing websites within the banking or brokerage industry is a plus.
- Experience developing or exposing internet‑facing websites for mobile devices, or strong knowledge of mobile application development.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $61,087 – $104,364.
