About the TeamRisk Narrative is a global platform within the Financial Crime and Compliance division of Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions, with teams distributed across the United States, United Kingdom, and Vietnam. This role is part of the US‑based squad. Risk Narrative is a B2B risk orchestration platform that enables organizations to assess and manage risks throughout the customer lifecycle. The platform supports consumer onboarding, transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, and financial crime compliance by orchestrating data, decisioning, and workflow processes.
The US squad is responsible for driving new product initiatives, enhancing performance and scalability of the orchestration engine, and overseeing production deployments and ongoing platform maintenance.
This position serves as a subject‑matter expert for a specific team of Software Engineers. In addition to writing code on complex systems and applications, the role provides direction on project plans, schedules, and methodologies. The position has direct reports.
Responsibilities- Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
- Serve as the initial point of escalation for software development issues within specific areas of responsibility.
- Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
- Complete complex bug fixes.
- Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
- Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
- Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
- Mentor and/or train entry‑level software engineers as directed by department management.
- Keep abreast of new technology developments.
- Design and work with complex data models.
- Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Provide staff with training and resources needed to perform their jobs to the most outstanding degree possible.
- Provide frequent feedback and coaching to meet and exceed individual and team performance goals consistently.
- Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovation.
- Empower staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions.
- BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Software engineering experience with languages such as Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP.
- Good knowledge of industry best practices in development.
- Ability to partner and lead internal and external technology resources to solve complex business needs.
- Experience designing and working with complex data models.
- Knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems and associated toolsets.
- Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Strong experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation.
