We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our backend engineering team and help build the next generation of Load Up's cloud-native platform. This role focuses on designing and delivering resilient, maintainable microservices that power customer-facing and internal applications. You will work closely with product, QA, and operations to ship well-tested, production-ready systems that scale.

The successful candidate will combine solid engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience using modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to increase throughput while maintaining high quality and reliability.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful microservices using Java and Spring Boot (or comparable enterprise frameworks).

• Author clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with a strong emphasis on Test Driven Development (TDD).

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions or similar tools to automate build, test, and deploy processes.

• Collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive unit, integration, and contract testing coverage.

• Containerize services with Docker and deploy to Kubernetes (EKS), ensuring observability, autoscaling, and reliability.

• Implement security best practices across services, including authentication, authorization, and secret management.

• Work with product managers and designers to translate requirements into pragmatic technical solutions and ship on schedule.

• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement of system performance and operability.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years of equivalent professional software engineering experience.

• Proven experience building production microservices using Java, Spring Boot, or similar enterprise frameworks.

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservice-based architectures.

• Experience with ORM tools for data modeling and database interactions (JPA/Hibernate or similar).

• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases: schema design, indexing, query optimization, and migrations.

• Practical experience containerizing applications with Docker and deploying to Kubernetes (EKS or similar).

• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Git Hub Actions, pipelines, or equivalent) and automated testing practices.

• Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools (Git Hub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate high-quality delivery.
