The Driver position is a critical role within the transportation and warehousing industry, responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods across various routes within the United States. This role requires operating commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks, ensuring compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies. The driver will manage transportation logistics, including route planning and adherence to schedules, to optimize delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Maintaining vehicle safety and performing routine inspections are essential to prevent breakdowns and ensure operational reliability. Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience in truck driving within the transportation and warehousing industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems.
• Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections and handle cargo loading/unloading.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating dump trucks and box trucks.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems and logistics software.
• Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Additional endorsements on CDL such as hazardous materials (Haz Mat) or tanker endorsements.

Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial vehicles including dump trucks and box trucks safely and efficiently across assigned routes.
• Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure legal and safe transportation practices.
• Plan and follow designated routes using maps and GPS to meet delivery schedules and optimize fuel efficiency.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues.
• Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.

Skills:

The required skills such as truck driving and holding a CDL Class A license are fundamental for operating commercial vehicles safely and legally on public roads. Knowledge of DOT regulations ensures that the driver adheres to all safety and legal requirements, minimizing risks and maintaining compliance.
