Position Overview

Freeway International Logistics is seeking a Carrier Relations Specialist to join our team. Working directly under the Director of Carrier Relations, this position is responsible for helping ensure Freeway works with reliable, qualified, and compliant carriers. The Carrier Relations Specialist will assist with carrier vetting and approvals, manage and assist with cargo claims, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate with our internal team to support efficient day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct carrier vetting and review carrier information to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Review and process carrier approvals and denials.
• Collect, review, and maintain required carrier documentation.
• Follow up with carriers and internal team members regarding missing or incomplete information.
• Assist with the management and resolution of cargo claims.
• Communicate promptly and professionally with internal team members through Slack, email, and phone.
• Work closely with the Director of Carrier Relations to address carrier-related issues or concerns.
• Review carrier information and identify potential compliance or service concerns.
• Utilize company systems and databases to research, document, and manage carrier information.
• Provide timely support to Account Managers regarding carrier vetting and approval needs.
• Perform additional administrative and carrier related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain and Logistics, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Entry-level applicants welcome; prior logistics experience preferred but not required.
• General understanding of the transportation and logistics industry is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize multiple software systems.
• MS Office and MS Excel proficiency.
• Effective time management skills for prioritizing tasks.
• Hybrid work may be available after the training period.
• Occasional after-hours availability is required.
• After-hours support may include time-sensitive carrier approvals and urgent requests.
