- Bachelor’s degree, enrollment in a minimum of 6 hrs graduate coursework per semester, and 18 hours of master level coursework completed.
A Graduate Assistant (GA) in the Kinesiology Department at Sul Ross State University supports academic, administrative, and experiential learning functions while gaining professional development experience. Responsibilities may include assisting faculty with course preparation, classroom activities, grading, and student engagement, as well as supporting departmental operations such as event coordination, scheduling, record keeping, and student services. GAs may also assist with research, data collection, and program development within the kinesiology field.
Duties and autonomy vary by classification. A GA I serves in a supportive role and is not permitted to independently teach. A GA II assumes greater instructional responsibilities and may teach courses independently, provided departmental and university requirements are met.
