Benefits

On‑campus apartment and 60 meals per Fall & Spring semester are provided.

Responsibilities

Responsible for day‑to‑day management of either the Residence Halls or Apartments/Family Housing, including live‑in duties. The Assistant Director must assist in maximizing student development through outreach and support.

  • Assist with departmental functions, office operations, administrative procedures, staff selection, and ongoing training of student staff.
  • Promote staff development, implement and enforce policies, and conduct bi‑weekly health and safety checks.
  • Attend and plan weekly student staff meetings, monitor duty hours and job performance.
Hall Director Responsibilities
  • Administratively manage all aspects of the residence area.
  • Maintain high student contact, walk the area regularly, and provide individual and group counseling, crisis/conflict resolution, and discipline support.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate Resident Assistants; coordinate budget management, check‑in/check‑out processes, and report maintenance concerns.
Staff Development & Programming
  • Coordinate programming or staff development for Residential Living.
  • Develop and deliver academic, cultural, recreational, and personal development activities.
  • Support Resident Assistants in program planning, provide recognition, and organize workshops and conferences.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • One or more years of experience with student account systems or closely related skills.
  • Detail‑oriented, strong time‑management skills, and excellent written and oral communication.
  • Understanding of Student Development theory.
  • Ability to interface at all levels with campus officials.
  • Computer literate with personal computer proficiency.
Preferred
  • Master’s degree in student personnel, counseling, higher education administration, or a closely related field.
  • Two or more years of prior professional residence life experience.
Working Conditions

Exempt from overtime provisions. Irregular hours including evenings and weekends; travel with student groups. Position is security sensitive and requires live‑in living arrangement.
