Job DescriptionAlpine ISD is seeking a highly skilled, instructionally strong, and mission-driven Director of Early Learning Excellence to help lead and sustain the district’s commitment to providing the highest quality early childhood education for the children and families of Alpine, Texas.
This position reflects Alpine ISD’s belief that strong schools begin with strong early learning. In alignment with the district’s mission to provide learning experiences that enable children to become responsible, productive, successful citizens in an ever-changing world, the Director of Early Learning Excellence will play a central role in building a coherent, high-quality early childhood system that supports children from their earliest years through the primary grades.
The Director of Early Learning Excellence will oversee and support early childhood classrooms across Alpine ISD, from six-week-old classrooms at Alpine Child Development Center through Kindergarten classrooms at Alpine Elementary School. This leader will provide direct instructional coaching, support the development of the classroom environment, monitor instruction, lead professional learning, facilitate early childhood professional learning communities, and help ensure that every young child in Alpine ISD experiences instruction that is joyful, rigorous, developmentally appropriate, language-rich, and highly engaging.
While this is a long-term instructional leadership role within Alpine ISD, the Director of Early Learning Excellence will also help execute the goals of the Moody Foundation M-Pact Grant and the Alpine Promise Initiative. Through this work, the Director of Early Learning Excellence will partner closely with the School Empowerment Network and district leaders to strengthen professional development, support teacher coaching cycles, build instructional coherence, and help Alpine ISD develop a model for rural communities across Texas demonstrating what excellent early childhood education can look like for AISD’s youngest learners.
