Required:
* Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Counselor Education, or related field.
* Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in the State of Texas.
* Minimum five years experience in counseling and student services.
* Minimum three years as an LPC‑S.
* Graduate teaching experience preferred.
* Experience serving on a residential campus through such areas as training Resident Assistants (RAs).
* Strong communication skills, knowledge of evidence-based counseling practices, and familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms.
* Strict adherence to confidentiality.
Preferred Primary Responsibilities
Summary
Function:
Administers and coordinates counseling and accessibility/accommodation services as applicable for undergraduate and graduate students. Responsible for the continued development of the department, including advising on personal growth and providing individual and group counseling. Actively supports involvement in counselor practicum and/or associate programs on campus, as appropriate.
Scope:
Develops, administers, and coordinates a comprehensive system of student services focusing on student growth and development as well as administering therapeutic counseling services to undergraduate and graduate students with possible triage of faculty or staff and resultant referrals.
Duties
Essential:
Provides brief counseling services to undergraduate and graduate students. Supervises and administers accessibility services and accommodations for students. Serves on the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and other committees. Partners with other areas to coordinate and promote campus-wide health and wellness education and programming. Manages departmental budgets. Serves as liaison between the Counseling Center, the Office of Accessibility, and academic units.
Provides oversight for content and maintenance of web page(s). Responsible for personal safety, exercising best practices and safe work habits at all times. Other duties, as assigned.
Non‑Essential:
Plans and coordinates professional developmental activities for faculty and professional staff. Develops strategies for early referral of students. Participates in orientation and other activities as requested when possible. Develops mechanisms, in coordination with Institutional Research, to assess the effectiveness of the Counseling Center.

Supervises Counselors, administrative staff, student worker(s), practicum student(s), and volunteer(s). May supervise Licensed Professional Counselor Associates (LPC-A) and/or grant-funded positions.
Working Conditions
Usual:
Standard office conditions. Exempt from overtime provisions. Some evening and weekend hours as required. Position is Security Sensitive.
Any qualifications to be considered in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior approval of the Human Resources Director.
