- Master’s degree and at least one conferred degree in Music with woodwind, brass, guitar, or percussion as a major applied instrument area.
- Terminal degree in music or equivalent.
- A record of successful music education (K-12) teaching and professional performance experience.
- Interest and willingness to recruit and grow the program (and position).
Primary Responsibilities
:
The Sul Ross State University Music Program of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts seeks an Adjunct in Music to serve as a part-time music director to the Banda Lobos. The applicant will direct the Banda Lobos and any additional classes as needed. The candidate is able to grow the position by recruiting students. The candidate is expected to assist with managing the University’s Banda Lobos equipment in partnership with the Director of Bands.
Routine travel to the Alpine campus is expected, and the specifics of the schedule will be worked out between the successful applicant and the Music Program.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus.
The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Noncampus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
