Primary Responsibilities

The primary purpose of Campus Security Foot Patrol is to provide visibility, security, and safety upon the campus and to advise the University Police of any information concerning activities taking place on the campus during the nighttime hours. Other duties include escorting students on main campus; reporting suspicious activity on campus; ticketing vehicles; providing general directions to visitors; reporting of defective existing light fixtures;

ensuring academic buildings are secured; and other related assignments requested by the department. Serve as additional staff at special events.

Work hours are primarily but not limited to 9PM-2AM. Foot patrol could be assigned to work any time of the week, including weekends.

Candidate screening will require a background check and 2 letters of recommendation.

The position is temporary and is Security Sensitive.

The Annual Security & Fire Safety Report is available online at /The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported;

and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
