Role snapshot

Own the purchasing lifecycle—from analyzing requisitions and selecting vendors to negotiating terms, tracking deliveries, and aligning logistics—so our shop floor never stops building world-class cranes.

Core responsibilities

Source strategically: choose best-fit vendors for raw materials, crane components, and shop supplies based on requisitions from managers and sales.

Manage vendors: nurture supplier relationships; negotiate pricing and terms to capture savings while safeguarding quality.

Coordinate projects: maintain production schedules by monitoring orders, arranging inbound/outbound freight, and clearing back-orders quickly.

Control inventory: keep the right balance—no line-stopping shortages, no costly excess.

Connect teams: ensure purchasing aligns with production, shipping/receiving, and finance so deliveries and billing stay in sync.

Qualifications High proficiency with computers and strong typing accuracy and speed; adept with purchasing/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Experience in purchasing/procurement within manufacturing or industrial environments.

Technical familiarity with motors, steel, and electrical components; knowledge of overhead cranes is a plus.

Reliable commute to Alsip now and to Hammond during/after the transition (beginning 2027).Professional traits: integrity-driven negotiator; organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed.
