Job Description
The Lab Technician performs sensory, physical, and chemical tests on finished products to ensure they meet established specifications. The role involves evaluating the Bill of Materials for completeness and proper documentation, recording test data in the LIMS system, and reporting nonconformances with immediate corrective actions. The technician is also responsible for inspecting manufacturing and storage equipment, participating in proficiency programs, and following proper GMPs and GLPs.
Responsibilities- Conduct sensory, physical, and chemical tests on finished products.
- Evaluate and ensure completeness of the Bill of Materials.
- Record and maintain test data using the LIMS system.
- Report nonconformances and initiate corrective actions.
- Inspect manufacturing equipment and ensure sanitation standards.
- Participate in internal proficiency and external check sample programs.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Assist with Raw Material testing and Certificate of Analysis (COA) reviews.
- Inspect finished product packaging for correct labeling and configuration.
- Approve and apply final wrap with automated equipment.
- Perform wet chemistry product testing and equipment inspections.
- Conduct audits and procedural checks on the manufacturing floor.
- Rotate stations weekly, spending 70% of time in the laboratory and 30% on the manufacturing floor.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field.
- 6-12 months of experience in quality assurance or control.
- Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturing, viscosity, pH, and sample testing.
- Ability to work with various laboratory equipment such as UV‑Vis, HPLC, and Fat CEM Rapid Analyzer.
- Capability to perform antioxidant and micro testing.
- No food allergies, as taste testing is required.

Contract to Hire; ALSIP, IL.
Pay And Benefits- Pay range: $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
