Position summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support the safe and reliable operation of production equipment and facility systems at a paper-converting operation in Alsip, Illinois.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Install, repair, and overhaul production equipment and machinery, including rewinders, sheeters, and trimmers.
  • Maintain motors, gears, compressors, pumps, clutches, brakes, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical circuits and production equipment controls.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, cleaning, and lubrication.

    Complete light machining, welding, fabrication, and parts repair as needed.
  • Read and follow equipment manuals, schematics, specifications, written instructions, and manufacturers' directions.
  • Respond promptly to equipment problems to help minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Qualifications
  • Three to five years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of basic industrial electrical systems and circuits.
  • Ability to read schematics, equipment manuals, and technical instructions.
  • Welding, fabrication, or light machining experience is beneficial.
  • Experience in paper converting, printing, packaging, or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
