Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting with laundry and maintaining public areas in a manner consistent with a superior quality hotel.
- Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
- Ensure all laundry bags go from room areas to laundry room
- Maintain the public areas of cleaning floors vacuuming and polishing banisters if needed
- Restocking all supplies
- Carries or transports laundry bags from room areas to the laundry room
- Cleans public areas consisting of sweeping, vacuuming, washing and polishing wherever required, the floors, banisters, walls and other areas as needed
- Answers questions and responds to Guest concerns within his/her knowledge as requested
- Cleans windows in hallways or anywhere requested
- Cleans washrooms and meeting rooms
- Empties garbage from Room Attendant carts and offices daily (Niagara properties only)
- Stocks all housekeeping areas with supplies
- Picks up and stores weekly orders of goods from receiving
- Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services
- Suggesting additional products and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences
- Assessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and services
- Actively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs
- Help other departments when requested
- Turn in any found articles to the Housekeeping Supervisor on duty
- All other duties as assigned
- One year guest service experience
- Grade 12 education (not mandatory but an asset)
- Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset
- WHMIS training is considered an asset
- Must be flexible for various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good personal hygiene
- Outgoing and self-confident
- Confidence in selling and up-selling products and services
- Positive sales-oriented personality
- Desire to meet goals
- Ethical and honest
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able push/pull linen carts
- Walking and standing over extended periods of time
- Good physical condition
