Lead the future of Surgical Services at Alton Memorial Hospital. As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), you'll partner with the Nurse Manager to support daily operations, team development, and exceptional patient outcomes across the Operating Room, Pre-Op, PACU, and Central Sterile Processing departments.

Monday-Friday leadership schedule
No weekends or holidays
Lead staffing, scheduling, and daily operations for a team of 60+ clinical and support staff
Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and leader for perioperative team members
Champion patient safety, quality outcomes, and employee engagement
Collaborate closely with physicians, educators, and interdisciplinary leaders

Minimum Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) license
2+ years of Operating Room nursing experience
BLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

BSN preferred or actively pursuing BSN
2+ years of frontline leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Board Runner, Team Lead, etc.)
CNOR certification
ACLS and/or PALS certification
Experience with staffing, scheduling, Kronos, and My Time
Previous perioperative leadership experience

Overview

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.

The Operating Room is made up of 7 General rooms, one Cysto room, and one Minor procedure room. Staffed from 0700 till 1700 Monday-Friday with all other hours and days covered with a Call Crew.

Role Purpose

Coordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment purchased, and statistical accumulation.

Responsibilities

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions with regard to their age and developmental needs to attain the patient's optimal level of wellness and documents according to policy.

Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment.

May support the review of staff hours worked vs scheduled hours and determine appropriate disposition if variation exists. Perform and approve daily payroll updates.
