Job Title: Teacher

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt-Professional

Reports to: Principal

Pay Grade: Teacher Salary

Dept./School: Assigned Campus

Starting Date: To Be Determined

Job Description
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
  • Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
  • Prepare for assigned classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor.
  • Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs and capabilities of the students.
  • Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Evaluate student progress on a regular basis.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records per law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Assist in formulating, upholding, and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board Policy.
  • Be available to students and parents for educational purposes outside the instructional day when required, under reasonable terms.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings.
  • Cooperate with staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  • Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  • Maintain professional and cooperative relations with others.
  • Communicate with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth through workshops, seminars, conferences, and advanced coursework.
  • Accept co‑curricular responsibilities as assigned when they do not interfere with primary teaching duties.
Working Conditions

Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written), interpret policy, procedures, and data; maintain emotional control under stress; implement TEA rules and regulations.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Occasional prolonged hours; regular physical demands of stooping, lifting, and other strenuous demands of job performance.

Position Working Days: 187 Days

Qualifications

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level.

Experience/Knowledge: Knowledge of effective schools research, principles of accreditation standards, Texas Education Agency requirements; teaching techniques and methodology; physical, mental, and emotional child development; special needs of exceptional learners.
