Join the Acute Medical Unit at Alton Memorial Hospital, part of BJC Health Care. Nurses are supported, recognized, and empowered to provide exceptional care in a community‑based setting.

• Open to ADN, BSN, and MSN candidates
• Day shift schedule: three 12‑hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Up to a $15,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible external candidates
• Shift differentials for nights, weekends, and holidays

Alton Memorial Hospital is a full‑service acute care facility serving a five‑county area in Illinois since 1937.

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing care standards.

• Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration.

• Proactively plans and ensures communication of care plans across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs per nursing standards.
• Assesses patient preferences, barriers, values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
• Maintains constant state of alertness; ensures safe performance of all job functions (safety‑sensitive position).
