Balance Autism is looking for a Preschool Teacher to add to our team! This individual is responsible for creating a quality learning environment that engages both neurotypical and neurodivergent children in a supportive, inclusive, and safe environment.

• Coordinate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) to create comprehensive curriculums to address early childhood development needs and conduct student assessments.
• Encouraging social interactions between children and improving their self-esteem.
• Engaging in creative methods of learning, such as arts and crafts, supervised play, and storytelling.
• Ensuring the classroom is a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Preparing for lessons by gathering materials and setting up workstations.
• Communicating with parents to better understand their children's needs and personalities and provide them with up-to-date information regarding their child.
• Provide direction to Preschool Aides and Behavior Technicians.
• Work directly with each person served, demonstrating competencies in implementing individualized ABA programming and Safety Care procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to communicate with young children at their level.
• Patient, compassionate attitude, with a friendly, energetic disposition.
• Good mediation and nurturing abilities.
• Creative mindset with an ability to create memorable, out-of-the-box lessons.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to serve as a positive role model.

• Bachelor's Degree.
• At least one year of early childhood teaching experience;
  Iowa Early Childhood Teaching License that includes pre-Kindergarten preferred.
• Driver's license and auto insurance.
• Pass motor vehicle report and criminal background checks.

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit and use hands.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, run or crawl.
• Must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Able to move quickly and frequently get up and down, including able to stand up from the floor quickly when necessary, without injury.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration.
• Ability to work in an environment where the noise level can be loud.
