Mechanical Insulation PM​/Estimator

Position: Mechanical Insulation Project Manager/Estimator.

Location: Des Moines, IA.

Reports To: Director of Operations.

Ziegler Industries is seeking a Mechanical Insulation Project Manager/Estimator to join our team in Des Moines, IA. This role combines estimating and project management responsibilities—accurately pricing projects, preparing detailed proposals, and overseeing awarded work from start to finish. The right candidate will have strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

• Perform accurate material and labor take-offs from blueprints and specifications.
• Develop cost estimates and proposals that clearly outline scope and pricing.
• Manage awarded projects, coordinating with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee material procurement, budgets, and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with quality, energy efficiency, and safety standards.

• Solid understanding of mechanical insulation (pipes, ducts, HVAC, plumbing systems).
• Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• 3+ years of experience in estimating/project management preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field a plus.
