Overview
Flexible weekend part-time work. 15-20 hours. We are seeking a highly skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team during the night shift. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting equipment to produce precise components and assemblies. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure high-quality production standards are met efficiently.

- Set up and operate laser cutting machines, ensuring accurate calibration and alignment
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to program laser equipment
- Utilize CNC programming skills to optimize cutting processes and improve efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser machinery to minimize downtime
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment
- Collaborate with fabrication, assembly, and quality control teams to meet production deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards
- Support tooling changes and adjustments for various projects as needed
- Document production data accurately for quality assurance and process improvement
- Proven experience operating laser cutting machines within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong knowledge of CNC machine controls, CNC programming, and software
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools
- Knowledge of materials handling equipment such as forklifts; certification preferred
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
- Factory experience in manufacturing facilities emphasizing machining, fabrication, or packaging operations
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control standards
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
