The Plumber will install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems throughout Adventure land Park. Responsibilities include handling water, waste, gas, and heating systems, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring compliance with all safety and building codes.
Responsibilities- Assemble and install pipe systems, water heaters, toilets, sinks, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Inspect plumbing systems, locate leaks or clogs, and repair or replace broken parts.
- Use testing equipment, cameras, and pressure gauges to diagnose malfunctions.
- Read and interpret blueprints and building specifications to map plumbing layouts.
- Adhere to state and local building codes, regulations, and occupational safety standards.
- Provide cost estimates, prepare bids, and explain repair options to management.
- Install and maintain water supply systems, including gas and liquid heating systems such as air‑conditioning units and radiators.
- Promptly report escalated maintenance issues or safety hazards to park leadership.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in shop and work areas.
- Assist other maintenance and trades team members with projects.
- Perform any other duties and projects assigned by Maintenance or Park leadership.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (trade school diploma, apprenticeship completion, or valid license/certification preferred).
- 3–5 years of plumbing experience, highly desired.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English;
Spanish or other bilingual skills an advantage.
- Minimum age 18 to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws.
- Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and open to night shifts.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with a good record.
- Adherence to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Positive, professional interaction with team members, guests, contractors, and suppliers.
- Clearly, calmly, and accurately troubleshoot issues, even in the presence of guests.
- Read and comprehend blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems and associated appliances.
- Safe and efficient handling of all plumbing tools and equipment.
- Must provide own tools, including but not limited to screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, punches, wrenches, pipe cutters, and socket sets up to 1 inch and metric up to 24mm.
- Follow directions, multi‑task, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods.
- Frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
- Carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 100 pounds or more.
- Work in awkward positions that may cause discomfort or strain.
- Operate in all non‑conventional areas, including confined spaces, above ground‑level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts.
- Consistently use hands to grasp, control, and move objects/tools.
- See differences between colors and brightness, and detail of objects more than a few feet away.
- Frequent interaction with both outdoor and indoor park areas.
- Exposure to variable weather: high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice.
- Exposure to sharp, very hot, or very cold supplies and equipment.
- Potential exposure to poisons, gases, blood borne pathogens; proper PPE required.
- Constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, machinery, and motorized equipment.
- Handling of dust, dirt, grease, oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners.
